There’s no better way to welcome spring than with a four-week online floral arranging course hosted by the amazing Chelsea Fuss of Frolic! blog. This week we learned to arrange a hand-tied bouquet. Inspired by a fresh and feminine aesthetic, I used garden roses, freesia, skimmia, silver dollar eucalyptus and feather eucalyptus in this bouquet.

Playing with flowers is the ultimate therapeutic downtime activity and the perfect way to continue challenging myself as an event stylist. Check back each week for images of what I’ve been arranging.

We loved celebrating Spring alongside our friends at Crave Cookies & Cupcakes by creating some fun handmade pieces to display with their tasty seasonal treats and adorable retail items. Based on our whimsical inspiration we dip dyed coffee filters to create garland and faux peonies. The result was light, airy and fresh window displays to welcome the new season. We are already gearing up for some sunny summer window displays so look for those soon.

This was our first time designing and styling a birthday party and it was a blast. The sweet guest of honor celebrated in style with a surprise cocktail and dessert party we all would have loved to call our 18th birthday.

We worked with a chic, feminine color palette of black, white and silver with pops of pink. The vision statement for the fete was a contemporary cocktail lounge celebration with touches of feminine detail.

The aesthetic was brought to life with signature cocktails, small bite dessert bar, fringy photo booth, contemporary florals and candy goodie bags. A perfect blend of sweetness and sass. Eighteen is truly a party.

We’re slowly starting to fall in love with the small, intimate affairs, so if you’re looking for something amazing for a bridal or baby shower, milestone birthday, rehearsal dinner, housewarming fete, Cinco de Mayo festivities, whatever the cause for celebration, we’re interested!

It’s with joy and excitement that we make a more personal announcement than usual… Pink & Honey is adding a wee baby to the team! I am taking in each moment with thankfulness and peace, and welcoming the journey of pregnancy into momma-hood. October 10th is when our little is set to arrive, so it’s going to be a beautiful summer of nesting and maxi dresses.

And you can only imagine our excitement as the world of maternity shoots, nursery designing and baby parties begins. We can’t wait to share the celebrations!

It’s no secret that my little sis is engaged, and after the many gracious hours she’s spent assisting me on shoots and at events, I am so happy it’s her turn in the spotlight. As we eagerly await the warmer months, we bundled up and spent some time in the snow to capture sweet engagement shots of this happy couple.

Organic, simple and earthy were my cues. And I set out to create a shoot inspired by the warmness of love in a winter setting. With a mostly neutral color palette, I relied on various textures and fabrics for visual interest and intrigue. Wool, faux fur, fringe, and lace, all played a role in telling this story.

Pink & Honey and our friends at Crave Cookies & Cupcakes are teaming up to bring you a little something special this month. I’m excited to announce that we will be designing their Spring window displays! How great is that!? We are thrilled to contribute our love for interesting visuals by designing, creating and installing some fabulous window displays.

Crave will be launching a selection of delicious new treats in celebration of the coming of a fresh season and Easter. We want to highlight their product using an unexpected combination of fresh, bright whimsical colors- mellow mint, watery blue, peony pink and pops of limone. The vision statement for the displays is: a bright and bold welcome to spring with watercolor whimsy. Here’s the inspiration board we’ll be using to guide our designs.

Look for our window displays in early March at all four Crave shops in Calgary, as well as the shops in both Edmonton and Saskatoon. Can’t wait!

There seemed no better way to introduce this family photo session than with the star of the show- Emma. This little gal and her family (mama is Kate of Uh Oh My Deer) were a delight to work with and I was thrilled to come on board and help make their vision of a family walk and picnic in the snow come to life.

Blair Marie Photography shot the sweet crew while I styled and set props. Bright pops of color against the snow, a handcrafted faux fire, and pattern mixing. I’d take on a family photo session anytime…
